February 23rd

Mondo Mazwai introduced Mira to the 1st Year class.

March 16th

The 2nd year Mira Gs were introduced to their mentors and their exciting projects for 2019.

April 6th

We discovered and celebrated our inner beauty with Palesa Mompe and Ayanda Seboni. “Shrug off the labels others put on you – embrace your own identity.”

May 4th

Self & Dating: Nthopele Mabandla dealt with setting our boundaries on social media and in the culture of hooking-up.

June 15th

On the eve of June 16, we looked at the challenges that face the youth of today – with special attention on spatial segregation.

June 27th

The Mira Gs sampled varsity life with a tour of WITS, and were kindly hosted for lunch by PPS at its Inner Circle Lounge.

July 20th

We reviewed a powerful Ted Talk, “The Danger of a Single Story”, in which acclaimed author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie challenges us to see beyond stereotypes.

August 17th

Author Injangolet S. Ogwang sent the Mira Gs a personalised vlog about her book, “An Image in a Mirror” which inspired the girls to think about their own lives.

September 22nd

A panel of high-flying professionals, all from Mohlakeng, gave the Mira Gs career guidance, and showed that their futures are as big as they dare dream!

2-night Camp

We close the year with a girls’ leadership camp.
