Why Mira
Townships were deliberately designed with low levels of investment and potential for development.
In pursuit of better economic opportunities, many positive role models move to cities. This spatial disconnect between townships and the mainstream economy inadvertently robs young people in townships of their inspiration.
The girl child is usually the most affected.
What Mira is
Mira means ‘Wonder’. Our work provides a lens through which the girls discover their wonder and inspires them to reach their full potential by making positive life choices.
Our logo is a fingerprint. It represents the maze of pathways and possibilities each girl faces on her journey.
Mira helps the girls to navigate this maze in their teen years to ultimately make a mark in the world as leaders!
